Who we are

Wyntercon is a charitable incorporated organisation (CIO). We support and encourage those from underprivileged backgrounds to thrive within the creative sector and be part of their local community. We’re passionate about providing a platform for people to discover their skills and passions by giving them the confidence through the worlds of sci-fi & fantasy.

" It doesn't matter what world you come from, you're welcome in ours. "

We recognise new talent struggles to gain entry in creative industries, and know they require support, so our aim, where possible, is to provide networking opportunities and guidance on career development.

Our Aims & Values

Our policies and procedures are designed to ensure personal accountability, responsibility, empathy and confidence. We recognise that this is an ongoing process, but are committed to a comfortable and safe environment for everyone who works at, attends or participates in Wyntercon CIO activities, or workshops.

  • Enabling social participation Wyntercon CIO works hard to open doors to people experiencing social exclusion issues, and helps them to participate more actively in society.
  • Removing barriers of opportunity Wyntercon CIO promotes equality for people who experience mental health issues, along with other forms of discrimination.
  • Building Life skills. The workshops we manage are designed to support the unique needs of disadvantaged individuals, and provide a positive environment to prepare them to work, socialise, and enjoy their lives.

We frequently partner with and support many local community and voluntary organisations, so they can reach a wider audience.

The Wyntercon Event

The annual Wyntercon event is our end of year fundraising showcase. Its purpose is to raise funds for, and awareness of, our activities and workshops that run throughout the year with support from our partners and sponsors. Regarded as one of the biggest family-friendly events on the south coast, it has fast become part of the local calendar.

Awards & Recognition

Here at Wyntercon CIO, we value our local community. Over the years we have worked around the clock to construct an organisation that is accessible to all. Inclusion is at the very heart of what we do, and everything is exclusively not-for-profit to support those from underprivileged backgrounds.

Our educational workshops, attractions, and other endeavours are available to everyone, and exist to provide a springboard for creative minds to explore their passions.
