Who we are

Wyntercon is a not-for-profit CIO - a charitable incorporated organisation. We support and encourage those from underprivileged backgrounds to thrive within the creative sector and be part of their local community. We’re passionate about providing a platform for people to discover their skills and passions by giving them the confidence through the worlds of sci-fi & fantasy.

" It doesn't matter what world you come from, you're welcome in ours. "

We recognise new talent struggles to gain entry in creative industries, and know they require support, so our aim, where possible, is to provide networking opportunities and guidance on career development.

Our Aims & Values

Our policies and procedures are designed to ensure personal accountability, responsibility, empathy and confidence. We recognise that this is an ongoing process, but are committed to a comfortable and safe environment for everyone who works at, attends or participates in Wyntercon CIO activities, or workshops.

  • Enabling social participation Wyntercon CIO works hard to open doors to people experiencing social exclusion issues, and helps them to participate more actively in society.
  • Removing barriers of opportunity Wyntercon CIO promotes equality for people who experience mental health issues, along with other forms of discrimination.
  • Building Life skills. The workshops we manage are designed to support the unique needs of disadvantaged individuals, and provide a positive environment to prepare them to work, socialise, and enjoy their lives.

We frequently partner with and support many local community and voluntary organisations, so they can reach a wider audience.
