Here at Wyntercon, we would like to apologise for the lack of communication recently. We know that our usual output across all social media has been lacking, and our regular blogs have been in dark mode. This has not been due to us slacking off, in fact, this couldn't be further from the truth.
The reason our output has been down is due to the chaos brought about with the ever-changing guidelines regarding the pandemic. With the cancellation of our main fundraising event and the reduction in all other funding streams, everyone associated with the Wyntercon charity has been doubling down to try and reduce the impact on those that need us the most. Which is by no means an easy task.
It has resulted in several changes in how we work. This short term restructuring has affected a lot of Wyntercon's activities and thus, the lack of communication with you, our extended family.
However, this is about to change. We understand the importance of keeping you all informed and that is what we intend to do. Alongside our work with the most vulnerable in our community, we will be organising workshops and smaller fundraising events. It's going to be a real challenge but one that I think everyone who follows the work we do, will understand is vitally important.
So we are very sorry for being a little silent over the last couple of months. It's not that we don't love you, nor have we been trying to hide. We've just been focusing on those that need help.
Now we have got our new structure in place we can start to rebuild the republic. Here at Wyntercon, we view everyone that walks through the doors of one of our workshops or events, as family. We understand what our efforts mean to you, and we hope you more than realise how much your continued support means to us. Rest assured that this 'Andromadian Strain' on our resources may have caused a glitch in the Matrix, but it hasn't stopped our resolve. Like Fawkes, we will rise up and once more sit on Dumbledor's shoulder.
We have workshops planned, with your safety as a prime directive. There will be smaller gatherings to help keep the community together as well as to raise much-needed funds to help others. We may not have a major event until next year, but we will try our utmost to make the coming months full of warmth.
If you have any spare time to help us out and help others in the process then here at Wyntercon we are always looking for volunteers. Just drop us a line at email@example.com with a list of your skills and how much time you can spare. In these strange times, the most vulnerable in our community need us more and we mean to try our best to fulfil that need.
We may have been silent recently however, we are coming back louder. You have been warned.
