Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects in the UK, the Wyntercon team has worked hard towards holding a safe and secure Wyntercon VII event over the weekend of 26-27 September 2020. With the direction of change and pace of updates to guidance from government departments, we remained optimistic that the charity's fundraising and awareness event, Wyntercon VII, would be able to proceed at the very end of September, albeit with several changes from our original plans.
Following the Government's announcement on 17th July, that events and conferences will only be allowed to resume from 1st October 2020 (provided rates of COVID-19 infection remain at current levels) and having considered the practicalities of postponing Wyntercon VII to later in 2020. The Wyntercon Trustees have concluded that they have no workable alternative but to cancel Wyntercon VII for 2020.
The feedback that we have had from Wyntercon event fans, visitors, cosplayers, gamers, guests, exhibitors and sponsors is that they very much wanted the event to go ahead. As both trustees and organisers, we wanted to be able to deliver and meet those needs. We are deeply disappointed that this year's event has been cancelled but we are looking forward to bringing you a bigger bolder Wyntercon event in 2021.
With many local fundraising opportunities cancelled during the pandemic and now our main fundraising event of the year cancelled, like many other charities in theUK, we have a renewed focus on raising funds.
We are investigating the possibility of holding a separate "minicon" at the end of 2020 involving creative workshops, cosplay and a craft fair. We cannot promise anything yet but we will make a further announcement on this as soon as we can.

How do I get a refund for my ticket to Wyntercon VII?
All refunds for tickets purchased online will be processed automatically. Purchasers should receive an email within the next 14 days from Online Ticket Seller with details of the refund.
Refunds for physical tickets purchased from a retail outlet will be processed manually. If you are holding physical ticket(s) please email firstname.lastname@example.org so that we can arrange your refund.
I am a Trader/Exhibitor and would like to know about my booking/refund?
Traders/Exhibitors who have booked space at Wyntercon VII will be contacted directly by our team. If you have not heard from them by the end of the week please email email@example.com.
