This is our end of year fundraising showcase event. Managed by Wyntercon CIO, its purpose is to raise funds for, and awareness of, our activities and workshops that run throughout the year with support from our partners and sponsors. Regarded as one of the biggest family-friendly events on the south coast, it has fast become part of the local calendar.
The event attracts thousands of people - families, cosplayers and traders. Not forgetting fantastic entertainers, actors, authors and even dinosaurs! No one's been eaten… yet, but one thing for certain you’ll find at Wyntercon is a bold and brilliant community from different backgrounds all under one roof.
Every year we run a variety of educational workshops, this year is no exception and we are pleased to be working with the Devonshire Collective to deliver these once again. Our overarching themes for Wyntercon VII are Re Use - Re Cycle- Re Purpose and Mental Health Awareness.
Cosplay is a major part of Wyntercon and we run one of the biggest costume competitions on the south coast. Our competition is free to enter and we have a variety of categories to choose from. We award bonus marks to costumes that are user created or made.
We are delighted to welcome back Time Capsule Education to Wyntercon VII. With twenty years of teaching under their belts, their philosophy is to inspire young writers with the power of play! By allowing them to recreate real experiences and engaging tasks, they light a fire in young minds fuelling the forge of the imagination!
Sometimes the environment outside of your home can be extremely overwhelming for your child, especially if handling sensory stimuli is a challenge for them. So here at Wyntercon, we have a quiet and calm space that they can use. This area has been part of Wyntercon for many years and always will be.
Entertaining us once more with his mischievous antics will be Captain Nutty and his Pirate Crew! The Pirates will be walking around, getting up to mischief and shenanigans along the way. The award-winning Black Pearl Chevy Van which has won awards worldwide will be on display together with some new and exciting pirate props which will be exclusively revealed at Wyntercon VII. Marvel at the swashbuckling pirates as they search for treasure and force the traitors to walk the plank. Great family fun for all!
