This is our end of year fundraising showcase event. Managed by Wyntercon CIO, its purpose is to raise funds for, and awareness of, our activities and workshops that run throughout the year with support from our partners and sponsors. Regarded as one of the biggest family-friendly events on the south coast, it has fast become part of the local calendar.
The event attracts thousands of people - families, cosplayers, exhibitors and traders. Not forgetting fantastic entertainers, actors, authors and even dinosaurs! No one's been eaten… yet, but one thing for certain you’ll find at Wyntercon is a bold and brilliant community from different backgrounds all under one roof.
One person's trash is another person's treasure!
James Waterfield will show you how you can turn household plastic into real-life science fiction and fantasy props in our Junk Modelling Workshop. Learn how to make a Harry Potter wand, Blasters from Star Wars and even Sonic Screwdrivers from Doctor Who. Make and paint items to look like the real deal and add to your cosplay outfit on a budget!

The Wyntercon Tree is a symbol of inclusivity, growth and progress, but also illustrates diversity as no two leaves are the same. Working with Wyntercon volunteers, decorate your individual handprint in a style that allows you to express yourself. Add your personality and interests to the hand and, once you’re happy with the way it looks, we’ll add it to our fabric hanging tree to make the beautiful leaves.

Get creative in our Mobile Making Workshop! Our volunteers will be on hand to help you make your very own hanging mobile - choose from natural and recycled objects, including feathers and trees, to decorate in a way that expresses your creativity and individuality. Once the shapes are decorated, the mobile will be assembled and you’ll be able to take your creation home.

Watch someone talking, they will not just be saying words but they will also be using hand movements or gestures, facial expression, eye contact and body language (posture and movement). All this is communication. Makaton uses speech with signs (gestures) and symbols (pictures) to help people communicate.
